mobilizarte is a concept of a cultural project based on mobility and proximity. From 2012 to 2016, one mobilizarte module, a mobile cultural structure, will exhibit once a year in 10 Brazilian cities, a series of exhibitions and manifestations linked to the country's major events (amongst them Rock in Rio, World Cup, Olympic Games...).
Brazilian architects, working or not with designers and artists, will create the structure of the project
by Culture: an educational kit will accompany the project allowing for
greater interaction with local school children and university students
in the visited cities
our point of view:
To compensate the frustration of those who will not be able to directly participate or watch the events taking place throughout Brazil. mobilizarte will give access to a large number of Brazilians through cultural modules, such as exhibitions and film screenings, linked to the major events. Also our team will be using the mobilizarte structure to exhibit different shows.
mobilizarte will be an easily assembled structure that will facilitate the mobility of the exhibitions and film screenings throughout the country. The structure will be integrated with the exterior space of the city with free access so as to eliminate the intimidating aspect of the museum: it will be a structure of approximation.
The educational kit that accompanies the exhibition will give the public a more dynamic access to the world of culture.
mobilizarte exhibition program
Each year, for the duration of the project, the exhibitions and events will be presented in about ten Brazilian cities. They will rotate amongst the same cities, so as to create regularity/consistency and meet public/audience expectation.
In each city, mobilizarte will act in four areas:
Exhibitions for a wide audience
Events linked to cinema
Satellite projects with contemporary artists
1. exhibitions for a audience
mobilizarte is above all a project directed toward the public at large. Its main objective is to show that culture is accessible to everyone. This is made possible thanks to its mobile nature. Travelling/circulating exhibitions will have themes that appeal to popular interest so as to create links with institutions in the socio-cultural domain. Initially, original works will not be shown as the exhibitions will be created by using new technologies, photography, video projections and recordings.
July 2012 to July 2013, Mobilizarte launch exhibition, under the thematic of Music (title to be defined) curated by Emma Lavigne, curator Centre Georges Pompidou and Brazilian curator (i.e. Hermano Viana)?
July 2013 to July 2014, World Cup exhibition (title to be defined), exhibition in partnership with the Roberto Marinho Foundation and Football Museum in São Paulo.
July 2014 to July 2015, exhibition under thematic of dance (title to be defined) curated by Emma Lavigne, curator Centre Georges Pompidou and Brazilian curator (i.e. Gringo Cárdia).
July 2015 to July 2016, exhibition about the Olympic Games. Title and curators to be defined.
2. events linked to cinema
The mobilizarte structure will have a giant screen that will allow for outdoor film projections. The program will be in line with the main exhibition theme. Eventually films from festivals will be shown (i.e. Partnership with Rio Festival)
In close collaboration with a curator, two artists will create projects specific to the visited city, which will include a segment of the population, such as schools, universities, street children, elderly people and so forth.
These projects may take place through partnerships with different types of large-scale cultural events such as the São Paulo Biennal, MERCOSUL Biennal, PIPA Prize or Itaú Cultural Rumos.
In order to prepare the city for the arrival of mobilizarte, educators will visit schools and universities, informing and training professors and students transforming them into mobilizarte ambassadors. They will be essential in helping mobilizarte achieve its cultural objectives.
Monitors will explain the exhibition to the visiting public, especially to school and university students.
will be created with schools and universities.
